Purple Fluorite Crystal with Calcite----Hardin County, Illinois----~7\" x 4.5\"6lb 2ozThis crystal is a deep, beautiful royal purple with an underlayer of yellow fluorite visible in a few parts of the specimen.
When backlit, pyramidal phantoms appear in many parts of the specimen.
The rear side of this specimen is covered in small white dogtooth calcite crystals.
The size and heft of this specimen are incredible, definitely the largest IL piece I\'ve ever owned.
I acquired this from an old midwest collection of minerals. It dated to the early 1990s or before.
This body of this crystal is in excellent condition. There is some chatter on some parts, and one notable spot of damage on the smaller front cube,but it is overall in good shape, especially considering itssize.
This crystal has not been polished or altered in any way.
