5.50 ct Natural Gem Mountain Montana Sapphire Rough - Unheated — Teal, Bicolor, Lavender & Yellow-Green — 11-Stone Faceting Parcel
This is my personally selected Gem Mountain parcel of unusual natural colors. The parcel includes a .55 ct light teal, a .50 ct yellow-green/teal bicolor, and a .55 ct pale lavender/violet sapphire, along with several attractive yellow, lime and green stones.
This lot contains 11 natural, uncut Montana sapphires weighing approximately 5.5 carats total. These are the actual rough sapphires shown in the photographs, and the exact stones pictured are the stones you will receive. These are my best unusual colors, or stones with distinctive color zoning.
The lot displays a beautiful range of natural Montana sapphire colors, including a bicolor, a teal, lime green, sunny yellow, light green, light purple and light blue.
Several of the larger pieces have attractive color and noticeable translucency, making this an interesting parcel for a Montana sapphire collector, mineral enthusiast, lapidary, or faceting hobbyist interested in examining Montana material.
Individual Stones
1. .60ct: Pale yellow-green / soft lime green. Translucent appearance with visible light transmission through the stone. Attractive pastel coloration with a gently translucent appearance.
2. .40ct:Light green / pastel green. Translucent appearance. Natural Montana sapphire rough displaying a delicate pastel yellow-green color. Light understated Montana color with a translucent appearance.
3. .55ct: Pale violet. Translucent appearance. Natural Montana sapphire rough, in an unusual light lavender color. A soft, delicate violet hue with good light transmission and an attractive translucent appearance.
4. .35ct: Light sky blue. Translucent appearance. Natural Montana Gem Mountain sapphire rough in a soft pastel blue shade. delicate color with a translucent appearance.
5. .45ct: Vivid golden yellow. Appears translucent to slightly cloudy. Natural Montana Gem Mountain sapphire rough showing a noticibly saturated yellow-gold tone. Provides a good contrast within the parcel.
6. .40ct: Light green. Natural Montana sapphire rough in a fresh green hue. Softly saturated color with a translucent appearance.
7..45ct: Sunshine yellow. Natural Gem Mountain Montana sapphire with excellent color saturation in a lively sunshine yellow. Brighter and more saturated than the palest stones in the parcel, with a translucent appearance.
8. .55ct: Light teal body color and translucent appearance. Attractive cool-toned rough with color that should be interesting when cut.
9. .50ct:Bicolor yellow-green / blue-green Montana sapphire rough. Distinct natural color zoning with yellow-lime green transitioning into blue-green/teal. This is one of the standout stones in the parcel and would be particularly interesting for a faceter experimenting with orientation to showcase the color zoning.
10. .55ct: Lightgreen with good color differentiation. Gem Mountain Montana sapphire with a translucent appearance and some light transmission. Bright lively body color.
11. .70ct: Light green Gem Mountain sapphire appearing translucent with a soft natural green body color. Good sized piece of rough for a faceting
