4 Isle of Wight Fossil Bone Isle of Wight Ryde & Alum Bay Eocene Mammals Ref021 For Sale

For sale is a fascinating group of four fossil bone specimens personally found on the Isle of Wight, comprising three finds from Ryde and one (the largest grey colour one) from Alum Bay.All four specimens are heavily water-worn and display interesting textures consistent with fossilised bone. The Alum Bay specimen is particularly unusual, with an intricate network-like structure visible across its surface. The exact animals and skeletal elements are unknown, making this an interesting identification/research collection.These come from the fossil-rich northern Isle of Wight, where Eocene deposits are well known for vertebrate remains including mammals, turtles and crocodilians.Sold as indeterminate fossil bone rather than making an unsupported species identification.
