Lot of four original antique stereoview photographs from the 1876 Centennial International Exhibition in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
All four have matching ornate yellow/gold mounts and extensive printed catalog backs headed:
“INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION, PHILADELPHIA, 1876.”
The reverse lists numerous available Centennial Exhibition subjects and notes that the subject of each photograph is underlined.
This varied group includes views of exhibition displays and buildings, an outdoor cabin/building scene, and a particularly interesting view featuring the monumental arm and torch display associated with the Statue of Liberty project.
The 1876 Centennial Exhibition was held in Philadelphia to commemorate the 100th anniversary of American independence and was one of the major international exhibitions of the 19th century.
Original antique condition with expected toning, fading, foxing/spotting, staining, edge and corner wear, small bends/creases and general surface wear. The printed catalog backs remain remarkably interesting and largely legible. Please examine all photographs carefully for condition.
