33.6 carats (6.73 grams)Libyan Desert Glass holds celestial energy from an intense astronomical impact event! This stone holds a powerful cosmic story!
Libyan Desert Glass is a unique natural stone that formed from an intense meteorite impact! The heat and pressure of the impact combined with the sand and soil to create this beautiful yellow glass!
Geologists believe this impact occurred thousands, possibly millions of years agoand that this translucent yellow impact glass is only found in the Sahara Desert, Libya and western Egypt.
Ancient Egyptians collected this stone and would carve them into tools such as arrowheads.Named \"the rock of god\" the Egyptians believed it to have mystical and healing/protective properties.
This stone may appear to have a cloudy, bubbly texture inside with small black specks. These are not imperfections. They are all natural attributes that formed as the meteorite impacted with the earth\'s surface, melting and vaporizing the sand and soil and then solidifying into glass. Some of those specks may even be pieces of the meteorite!

As an astronomer and meteorite hunter, I am continually fascinated by the stories preserved within natural cosmic materials.

Libyan Desert Glass is a remarkable reminder of a rare event that connected Earth and the cosmos millions of years ago.
