Introduction to Libyan meteorites:

When near Earth objects explode and deposit energy in the Earth\'s atmosphere, both meteorite impacts and airborne explosions can cause rock mass melting. However, only impacts can generate shock waves that form high-pressure minerals.\". After research, it was found that there was a high-pressure mineral called reidite in the glass mineral particles of the Libyan desert, which was only formed during meteorite impacts. This has solved a century old mystery: the glass discovered in the Egyptian desert came from the impact of meteorites, rather than the combustion and fragmentation of meteorites in the atmosphere. This discovery is of great significance for understanding the danger of asteroids.
