Offered is an original collection of 27 antique Keystone glass lantern slides housed in their numbered wooden storage case marked 151–200.
All 27 slides currently contained in this case depict United States subjects and locations, making this an especially attractive Americana collection rather than a random assortment of international slides.
Subjects represented include American cities, transportation, railroads, mining, Great Lakes shipping, industry, landscapes and historic locations. Examples include:
- Bird's-Eye View of Chicago, Illinois
- Summit of Pike's Peak, Colorado, featuring the railway/train
- Great Lakes ore freighter at Conneaut, Ohio
- Hulett & Brown electric ore-unloading equipment
- Morris Pit Mine, Mesabi Range, Minnesota
- Additional U.S. scenes and locations
Several slides retain their small sequence-number labels corresponding with the numbered wooden case, while the slides also carry their individual Keystone catalog numbers and descriptive titles.
The wooden case originally accommodates positions 151 through 200. This sale includes 27 glass slides and the wooden case only; it is not a complete 50-slide set.
The slides are antique and show varying amounts of age-related wear, including dust, discoloration, edge wear and/or deterioration consistent with their age. Please examine all photographs carefully for condition.
A particularly interesting surviving Keystone educational collection combining Americana, early photography, American industrial history, transportation and Great Lakes history.
