An original 2018 Upper Deck Black Panther base card, #7 T’Challa Freezes, that Upper Deck bought back, foil-stamped with the silver Avengers emblem and hand-marked “1 of 1” in silver for the Rewind Buyback program in 2020 Avengers Endgame & Captain Marvel. Only one copy of each source card was given the Rewind treatment, so this is the single stamped copy of this card. It is in an Upper Deck hologram-sealed sleeve as received, with the tamper seals intact on both faces.
About the set
Avengers Endgame & Captain Marvel was Upper Deck’s April 2020 close of the first three phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: four cards to a pack, nine packs to a hobby box, a 97-card base set in tiers that get scarcer toward the Captain Marvel cards, and one hit per box from the autographs, diamond relics, sketch cards and plates.
The Rewind Buybacks are the part that looks backward. Upper Deck bought back base cards from its earlier Marvel Studios sets, from the 2011 Thor and Captain America releases through Black Panther and Infinity War, foil-stamped each one with the silver Avengers emblem, hand-marked it “1 of 1,” and dropped it into Endgame packs as a random insert. Only one copy of each source card was given the treatment, no odds or checklist were published, and the cards surface on the market a few at a time.
