2017 Marvel Premier Hellfire Club Portraits HC-13 Storm Sketch Card 03/30 UD For Sale

2017 Upper Deck Marvel Premier — Hellfire Club Portraits HC-13 Storm — hand-drawn sketch card, numbered 03 of 30

A hand-drawn Storm portrait from the Hellfire Club Portraits insert of 2017 Marvel Premier: an original sketch in ink, marker and white paint, mounted inside a printed gold picture-frame card so it hangs on the Hellfire Club’s wallpaper. Storm with the white mohawk of her 1980s look, lightning at her temple. Upper Deck had each of fifteen subjects drawn thirty times, and every card is hand-numbered on the back; this is 03/30, the third of the run. Sketch cards are original art, and no two of the thirty Storms are alike.

About the set

Marvel Premier is Upper Deck’s high-end Marvel line: one pack per box, five cards, packaged in a tin, six tins to a case. The 2017 edition guaranteed two sketch cards, one premium insert and two serial-numbered base cards in every box.

The 55-card base set is all original painted art, and every base card is numbered to 125. Above it sit three foil parallels, Blue numbered to 50, Gold to 10 and Black to 5, so even the entry-level parallel is a fifty-copy card.

• Hellfire Club Portraits HC-13, Storm. Fifteen subjects in the insert, each drawn thirty times and hand-numbered to 30.
• Original art in ink, marker and white paint on the sketch panel, framed by the printed gold-frame card front.
• Back carries the Hellfire Club story text, the serial number 03/30 and Upper Deck’s sketch-card congratulations text.
• The artist signed the sketch with a small “R” flourish at lower left; Upper Deck did not credit the Hellfire Club artists on the cards and we have not been able to attribute it, so we make no claim.
