Two hand-drawn sketch cards by Rhiannon Owens from Breygent’s 2010 Golden Age of Comics: Heroes & Villains, both in grey marker and ink on the ten-cent comic-cover blank with the gold-foil bands. The Green Sorceress, 1940, a blonde portrait against a black ground; and the Black Angel, 1942, in her horned cowl. Each back is signed by the artist with the character and year written in her hand and the 2010 date. Sold as pack-pulled sketch cards; the photos show both fronts and both backs. Raw and ungraded, each card in a penny sleeve and a toploader.

Breygent’s 2010 Golden Age of Comics: Heroes & Villains put the public-domain characters of the 1940s, the Black Angel, the Green Sorceress, the Claw, Cat-Man and the rest, on a base set styled like a ten-cent comic cover, and packed a hand-drawn sketch card into every box. The sketch backs carry the artist’s signature and the character drawn, written in by hand.
