This is an unusual and highly collectible Pepsi retail point-of-sale display promoting a chance to win a trip to the \'99 Major League Baseball All-Star Game. The main display features large Pepsi branding, a Pepsi can graphic, an image of Major League Baseball players on the field, and the Boston All-Star Game \'99 logo.
The display is specifically identified by the original printed instructions as a \"PEPSI \'BUILD IT\' END AISLE DISPLAY\" and includes the components needed to assemble the promotional display. The instructions are marked CDB-98, and the display includes the original poles, metal support pieces, cardboard components, and related promotional pieces visible in the photos. The promotional artwork also advertises a FREE BASEBALL PRACTICE KIT, making this more than just a flat Pepsi sign. It was designed as a complete retail promotional installation.
The main display measures approximately 50–51 inches wide and approximately 61 inches tall based on the tape-measure photos. The complete assembled display would have additional depth/height from the support poles and hardware.
The lot includes the large primary Pepsi display, additional Pepsi promotional cardboard panels, baseball practice kit graphics/components, white support poles, metal support wires/feet, assembly instructions, and a large period cardboard shipping carton.
The original shipping carton is particularly interesting because it has period Pepsi distribution/handling labeling and is printed \"BRUCE WILLIS STAND UP – 1 PER CARTON.\" This wording appears to identify the carton as packaging for another Pepsi promotional stand-up rather than necessarily the exact display shown, so it is being included as a vintage/period shipping carton and not represented as an exact matching factory carton.
This is a particularly interesting piece for Pepsi collectors, vintage soda advertising collectors, MLB collectors, Boston Red Sox/Fenway Park collectors, 1999 All-Star Game collectors, sports advertising collectors, vintage grocery-store displays, and Pepsi promotional memorabilia enthusiasts.
