Striking vintage Arthur Court elephant expandable trivet / casserole dish holder, copyright 1994.
This substantial sculptural piece features four hinged arms decorated with a procession of elephants, including large elephants with raised trunks at the ends and smaller elephants following behind. A detailed flower medallion forms the center pivot.
The hinged construction allows the holder to expand and adjust to accommodate different sizes and shapes of serving or casserole dishes. When opened, it also makes an impressive tabletop centerpiece.
