THE ARTISTRY BEHIND THE PRINT
Warner Bros. commissioned New York fine-art printing studio Atelier Ettinger to produce the Portrait Series using traditional lithographic techniques.
According to the original Warner Bros. documentation, twelve separate printing plates were used to achieve subtle shading and tonal variations. An edition could take up to four weeks to complete, using a historic 12-ton Voirin printing press.
Following completion of the authorized edition, the printing plates were destroyed.
This is a genuine fine-art lithograph, not a modern digital reproduction, poster, or giclée.
CONDITION & AUTHENTICITY
The lithograph and matting present beautifully. The original black frame shows minor scratches, surface wear, and discreet black touch-ups consistent with age. Please examine the photographs, including the frame-condition close-up.
The original Warner Bros. Certificate of Authenticity matches the artwork's edition number, 230/500.
