Beautiful vintage Gorham silverplate Greek Kylix reproduction, produced for The Metropolitan Museum of Art and dating to 1992.

This unusual decorative bowl is modeled after an ancient Greek kylix, a shallow two-handled drinking vessel. The underside is clearly marked:

The piece has a wonderfully sculptural form with graceful upward-curving double-loop handles. The center of the bowl features an intricate classical-style circular design surrounding a raised center boss. It is a striking decorative object whether displayed as a museum collectible, classical art accent, or shallow centerpiece bowl.

The silverplate has not been polished, allowing the naturally developed darker patina to remain. A future owner can preserve the aged appearance or polish it to a brighter silver finish according to preference.
