I’m selling an original 1988 special invitation for the premiere showing of JEB’s For Love and For Life, the multi-image presentation documenting the 1987 March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights.
Funny Aunt Esther Productions presented the program in conjunction with The NAMES Project at Lisner Auditorium in Washington, D.C., on October 1, 1988. The invitation names special guests Wayson Jones and Essex Hemphill and describes a presentation covering the March and Rally, civil disobedience at the Supreme Court, The NAMES Project Quilt, The Wedding, and the Harvey Milk Memorial.
The front features a black-and-white photographic montage with the handwritten-style purple For Love and For Life title. The reverse carries the full event announcement, ticket information, accessibility symbols, and production details.
This is genuine period LGBTQ+ movement ephemera rather than a later reproduction. The sheet has a visible central fold/crease, additional light handling creases, minor edge and corner wear, and age toning. The printing remains bold and fully readable on both sides. I have left it as found and photographed both sides clearly.
