Vintage Los Angeles City Fire Department commemorative wall plaque featuring the historic LAFD emblem, horse-drawn fire apparatus, City Hall, crossed fire axes and the department’s founding year of 1886.
This plaque is believed to date from the LAFD’s 1986 centennial period. It was acquired with personal effects identifying the previous owner as Darrel E. Thompson, a longtime Los Angeles City Fire Department officer who served as a Battalion Commander and later Deputy Chief/Operations Commander.
Raised cast-metal construction with silver, black and gold-tone detailing. The reverse is unmarked and has mounting holes. Approximately 11–12 inches across overall; please review the quarter shown in the photographs for scale. Quarter is not included.
Condition: Vintage pre-owned condition with surface scratches, finish wear, discoloration, tarnishing and age-related wear. The raised emblem and crossed-axe design remain complete and display well. Please examine all photographs closely for the exact condition.
