Vintage 1984Coleco \"Private Call\" Pink Teen Telephone – Rare Pre-ProductionEngineering /Factory Sample
Offered here is a vintageColeco Private CallTelephone, Model 7906, believed to be a pre-production engineering samplefromthe 1980s. This isnot a standard retail release. My brother was an electronictechnician at Coleco headquarters (Hartford, CT) in the 1980s and he wouldsometimes bring home samples, prototypes, and extras of products being workedon. This piece has been stored in the attic for decades!
The phone itself is inmint, unused condition. It has never been used or played with and remains in its original formed plastictray.
The factory label on the underside of the phone lists \"Model7906\" but leaves both the FCC Registration Number and Ringer Equivalencefields completely blank (see photos), which is consistent with templates usedfor internal factory testing and review before final FCC clearance was grantedfor retail sales.
The phone is complete except for amissing small key/accessory pieceas shown in the photos. [Note: It is entirely possible that this tinypart slipped out of the box and is still somewhere in my attic. I will happilyforward it to the buyer if it is ever found – gratis, of course.]
The phone comes housed in its original, plain whitefactory-shipping box. It features zero retail branding, logos, or consumergraphics - consistent with internal corporate distribution, layout approvals,or engineering samples. The box does show signs of age and wear (see photos)but it is still intact and included.
True to its pre-production nature, the box contains noretail instruction manuals, warranty cards, or marketing inserts.
This is being soldas a collectible pre-production item; functionality is not represented orguaranteed.
Please review all photos carefully for condition anddetails. [Note: Thephotograph of the Coleco employee award certificate is for provenance purposes only. The certificate is not part of the sale.]
