triking vintage Italian smoked-glass and chrome sputnik chandelier dating to the 1970s and attributed to Fontana Arte.
The sculptural fixture features 60 slender radiating stems surrounding a chrome central body, with textured smoked-glass elements and reflective spherical accents. Illuminated, the textured glass creates a beautiful warm glow and dramatic reflections.
Closely matching examples have been identified as Italian 1970s production, and some dealers attribute the design to Fontana Arte. This fixture is unmarked and has no manufacturer’s label or independent authentication. It is therefore offered as attributed to Fontana Arte based on comparison with matching market examples.
The chandelier was originally designed for 60 glass elements. This example includes 58; two are missing. Because of the dense arrangement, it continues to display beautifully. Please see all photographs.
The fixture has been dismantled, thoroughly cleaned, reassembled, and temporarily tested. It illuminates as photographed. Professional electrical inspection and installation are recommended before permanent use.
