Up for sale is an authentic, highly collectible vintage Buck 110 Folding Hunter pocket knife, complete with its original period-correct leather sheath. This package dates specifically to the late 1960s and represents a great piece of Buck history. Please review the exact collector specifications and condition details below:
KNIFE SPECIFICATIONS:• Tang Stamp: Two-line inverted stamp (\"BUCK\" over \"U.S.A.\"), which reads with the blade tip pointing down.• Classification: 3rd Version, Variation 2 (Manufactured between 1968 and 1970).• Handle Configuration: 2-Pin Inlay Pattern. Features two small brass pins securing the wood scales and one large center rocker rivet.• Rocker Rivet: Factory flush-ground (not the early bulging style).• Blade Steel: Vintage 440C stainless steel with the legendary Paul Bos factory heat treat.
SHEATH SPECIFICATIONS:• Type: Authentic 1967–1969 Atcheson Leather contract sheath.• Markings: \"BUCK\" is cleanly embossed into the leather flap directly above the snap. Large \"110\" stamped on the reverse belt loop.• Snap Button: Smooth, blank, and unbranded (correct for this exact era before Buck moved sheath production in-house).
CONDITION REPORT:• Blade: Mechanically excellent. The blade sits perfectly flush with the frame when closed (absolutely no \"blade peek\"). It functions smoothly with a strong, crisp lockup.• Sharpening/Wear: The blade shows light surface scratches and clear evidence of previous sharpening. However, it retains a full, honest profile with no deep gouges, heavy grinding damage, or chips.• Frame & Handle: The wood scales are beautifully intact with no cracks or splits. The heavy, square-edged brass bolsters display an authentic, unpolished aged patina. I have left the brass exactly as found for the next collector.• Sheath: The leather is structurally sound with solid stitching. The blank snap functions perfectly. Shows normal light wear and character consistent with its age. Please examine the high-resolution photos carefully to verify the stamp, pins, and overall condition.
