1967 Westinghouse Electric Corporation \"Infinite Energy\" — Vintage Nuclear Power Booklet

Really cool piece of 1960s nuclear-energy history from Westinghouse Electric Corporation.

This vintage \"Infinite Energy\" booklet, copyrighted 1967, presents nuclear power through the very optimistic lens of the Atomic Age. It covers topics including the history and development of nuclear energy, nuclear reactors, radiation, nuclear power plants, energy production, and the future role of nuclear power. The booklet also includes numerous period photographs, illustrations, diagrams, and graphics throughout.

The contents include sections such as \"Fact of Life,\" \"Nuclear Power Is a Worldwide Reality,\" \"How Man Discovered Infinite Energy,\" \"The Clean Look,\" \"Steve Visits a Nuclear Reactor,\" \"Radiation: What\'s the Problem? What\'s the Answer?,\" \"Are Nuclear Power Plants Safe?,\" and \"What Infinite Energy Will Mean to You and Your Family.\"

It\'s an interesting combination of vintage corporate advertising, science/technology history, and classic 1960s Atomic Age optimism. The illustrations and photography are especially cool, and it makes for a great piece of mid-century nuclear-era ephemera.

Condition:

This booklet has definitely seen some use and age, and I\'m describing it accordingly.

The glossy covers have considerable surface wear, including numerous scratches, scuffs, and general handling/storage wear. There is also some discoloration along the upper portion of the booklet. It appears somewhat heavier toward the back cover and the final pages, possibly from age-related staining or exposure to moisture at some point, although I can\'t say for certain what caused it.

There is a small hole/puncture through the back cover. It is much more apparent when viewing the inside of the back cover than it is from the exterior.

There is an old $0.50 price sticker attached to the front cover. I attempted to remove it but could not do so safely. It has clearly been attached for a long time, and further attempts at removal could damage the cover, so I have left it exactly as found. Whether the new owner wants to attempt removal is up to them.

The booklet is still securely bound together and is not falling apart. The pages turn normally, and there are no obvious loose sections. There is general age-related wear and some discoloration throughout, as shown in the photographs.

Please look closely at all of the photographs, as the photographs are an important part of the description and show the actual condition of the item you will receive.

A very neat survivor from the 1960s nuclear-power era and a particularly interesting piece for collectors of vintage science, technology, nuclear history, Atomic Age memorabilia, Westinghouse advertising, industrial ephemera, or mid-century graphic design.
