An awesome 1965 illustration of a moon landing -- pretty close to what actually happened! -- by Don Mackey, who was Kennedy Space Center's Chief Technical Illustrator from 1962 until the mid-70's. It is done in a period science fiction style. With the earth in view behind jagged mountains, the three-legged lander hits hard as it lands on the moon. It is about 11" x 14" and comes from a book I am salvaging. It featured the Mercury Seven but this is by far the best print of them all!
Good overall condition as shown. The top border is wavy and a little worn. Toned from age. Still supple, not brittle. Frame it right up in a standard size frame.
A great piece of NASA history and a wonderful image will add to any wall or collection. I ship every day the post office is open and I always combine shipping. Please see my store for more museum quality artifacts of history.
