1960 Marshfield High School Yearbook, The Pirates, Coos Bay, Oregon. This was Mel Counts Senior Year and he signed every photo of him in the yearbook. Photos 1, 2 and 3 show the front cover, back cover and binding. Photo # 4 shows the Title Page. Photo # 5 shows the Senior picture of Mel Counts who signed this photo and every other photo of him in the yearbook.Mel Counts would later go on to be perhaps the most famous basket player the State of Oregon ever produced. Mel would go on to play for the Boston Celtics and was on 2 of the Celtics NBA Championship Teams. He also played for the Los Angles Lakers.Photo # 6 shows the Junior picture of Jim Williams who was the previous owner of this yearbook.
