Original 1956 Monaco Royal Wedding Gala Invitation & Ticket – Opéra de Monte-Carlo
Offered here is an exceptional and authentic two-piece royal event set issued in connection with the 1956 wedding celebrations of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III.
This set consists of:
1) An original Opéra de Monte-Carlo “Soirée de Gala” invitation ticket, dated Wednesday, April 18, 1956, issued in honor of the marriage of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince. The ticket is individually numbered (Invitation No. 451) and designates Corbeille seating, a prestigious section of the opera house.
2) A formal palace-issued invitation letter, sent on behalf of His Serene Highness the Prince by the First Aide-de-Camp, inviting Mr. & Mrs. John O’Hara to attend the gala performance at the Opéra of Monte-Carlo. The letter specifies formal dress, RSVP instructions, and presentation requirements for admission.
These items were produced in extremely limited quantities and distributed only to invited guests, dignitaries, and high-status attendees. Survival rates are low, and intact paired examples are seldom offered publicly.
