Wonderful and unusual piece of authentic mid-century Greek-life memorabilia dating to 1955 — approximately 71 years old.
This decorative ceramic leaf-shaped dish features a beautiful light blue glaze with gold-painted edging and handle, along with the Delta Delta Delta (ΔΔΔ / Tri Delta) Greek letters. It is marked “Parents Day 1955” and retains the original Lappin Fraternity Novelties, 21 W. 28th St., Indianapolis, Ind. maker/dealer mark on the underside.
For a piece that is more than seven decades old, it remains in excellent overall vintage condition. There is age-appropriate crazing to the glaze and some wear/loss to the gold decoration, particularly around the edges and handle, as visible in the photographs. These are consistent with its age and do not detract from its overall presentation. No major damage is apparent from inspection.
An especially interesting collectible for Tri Delta members and alumni, Greek-life memorabilia collectors, fraternity/sorority historians, or collectors of 1950s collegiate and mid-century ceramics.
Please review all photographs carefully, as they are part of the condition description.
