The dead pan comic of silent films, Buster Keaton, who last week was near death from a gastrointestinal ailment, received an award honoring his contribution to early day movie entertainment. Jesse Lasky, left, a pioneer film producer, gave the award at the veterans' hospital at Sawtelle, near Hollywood. The plaque, known as a "George" is from the George Eastman House of Rochester, NY.
