Original Suffolk Chronicle & Mercury Coronation Edition, dated Friday, June 5, 1953, just three days after the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
This is a complete 18-page issue, with unusually extensive photographic coverage of the historic event. Eight of the 18 pages are full-page photographic pages devoted to the Coronation, including the crowning of Queen Elizabeth II, the Royal Family, the procession and celebrations throughout Suffolk.
The front page features a large Royal Family photograph beneath the headline “THE GLORIOUS SECOND OF JUNE.”
Unlike the much more commonly encountered national British coronation newspapers, this is a regional Suffolk/Ipswich publication that appears considerably harder to find today. The British Newspaper Archive confirms the Suffolk Chronicle was covering the coronation period, but I found very little current marketplace availability for this specific issue.

Condition
Complete and intact with substantial age-related wear. Paper shows toning, creasing, fold wear, edge tears/chipping and some separation/wear along the center fold and outer edges. Despite the condition, the photographs and printed content remain quite presentable and the complete 18-page issue has survived together.
