Vintage Meissen Germany Große Rose Tea Trio — Cup Saucer Bread Plate — Crossed Swords Mark — lovely vintage Meissen porcelain tea trio in the renowned Große Rose (“Gross Rose” / Large Rose) pattern, produced in Germany circa 1951 (production year marked with special character on the base of each item )
Set includes:
• 1 teacup (approx. 2.5” tall
X 3.5” Diameter)
• 1 saucer (approx. 5.5” / 14 cm diameter)
• 1 dessert/bread plate (approx. 7.0”/ 17.8 cm diameter)
Pattern: The Große Rose — Meissen decor 10a — is one of the factory’s most recognized and collected 20th-century patterns. Each piece is individually hand-painted with a large central pink rose in full bloom, scattered rosebuds, and green foliage on white hard-paste porcelain with gold rim trim. No two trios are exactly alike due to the hand-painted nature of the decoration.
Authentication: All three pieces carry the authentic Meissen blue underglaze crossed swords mark with painter and model numbers. Meissen has used this mark since 1722 — the world’s oldest porcelain trademark still in use.
