Original vintage Rubber City Open PGA Golf Tournament contestant badge dating from the 1950s.The Rubber City Open was an early PGA Tour event in the Akron, Ohio area and was played at Firestone Country Club from 1954 through 1959.Badge reads:RUBBER CITY OPENCONTESTANTP.G.A. GOLF TOURNAMENTOriginal metal pin-back construction with manufacturer marking on reverse.The Rubber City Open featured many of the leading golfers of the era, with tournament champions including Tommy Bolt, Henry Ransom, Ed Furgol, Arnold Palmer, Art Wall Jr. and Tom Nieporte. Jack Nicklaus also competed in the 1958 tournament as an amateur.Shows age-related wear, surface wear, oxidation/tarnish and discoloration consistent with an original 1950s tournament credential.
