Vintage MONT BLANC 264 fountain pen with a 14k F- Fine nib. The nib is smooth and pretty flexible, with a very nice line variation. The knob is marked F, but visually to me it looks like a KF- Kugel Fine. I got the pen this way, so can't be sure. Kugel nibs were meant to write more similar to a ballpoint pen, this one is is very smooth and flexy.
These pens are sought after among collectors. The thin snowflake on the top could crack in certain pens, but this one is immaculate. This pen has no cracks visible anywhere on it. Although the 2X4 would be the midsize model, there was never a 266, so this is the biggest of the 26X series. It is a bit longer than the 254, but isn't as thick or long as the 256. This pen was the true successor to the celluloid 244 and was one of the first resin-made Montblancs. Even the nibs were stamped with 244 on the bottom, which you can see in the disassembled photo. Also, the latest 244's used the same looking nib as this pen.
This is the second generation, meaning it had the pure white-colored snowflake, the model and brand designation on the golden cap ring and a blue ink window. The earlier 264 pens had the ivory snowflake, blank cap ring, but engraved cap resin and a white ink window.
The pen is in mint condition, as you can see on the pictures. It is a piston filler pen. The pen itself has been fully serviced, which included full disassembly, thorough cleaning and all moving parts lubrication, thus the pistons operates smoothly. There is also a picture of the pen fully disassembled during the service.
I have provided a writing sample using Pelikan 4001 black tint, in order to further describe the writing characteristics of the nib. Please keep in mind that I am a left handed writer
