We are offering 9 menus from the 1950s of Cunard White Star Line with beautiful covers. (8 1/4" x 10 1/2"). Some are dinner and some are luncheon menus. Four menus are from 1950 - all were onboard R.M.S. Queen Elizabeth - September 22, September 29, October 1, and October 2. Five menus are from 1956 - all were onboard M.V. Britannic - May 18, May 19 (lunch), May 19 (dinner), May 21, and May 22.
One cover is from the painting "Spring in Grosvenor Gardens". One cover is of the bas-relief by sculptor Richard Garbe titled "Merchant Adventurers"sculpted in 1580 A.D. Another is titled "The Cornish Fishing Town of Looe, from the Sea". Another is a beautiful illustration of the M.V. Britannic. Another is a reproduction of the Golden Cherubsfigurehead carved by Grinling Gibbons in 1663, the oldest merchant ship figurehead in existence. Another has a beautiful illustration of the Cunard Building in Liverpool, with travelers and 1950s automobiles. Another is the old Chaudiere Bridge near Quebec, from an engraving done is 1840. Another has an unidentified beautiful forest scene with wildflowers. And another has depictions of twelve Cunard White Star ships with their names - Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary, Mauretania, Caronia, Britannic, Ascania, Aquitania, Samaria, Scythia, Franconia, Parthia, and Media.
