Striking original1950 Pontiac Chieftain hood ornamentfeaturing Pontiac's famousIndian Chief design combined with dramatic jet/airplane-inspired styling.
This ornament features a translucentamber/orange Lucite Indian Chief head, long streamlined chrome body and projecting aircraft-style wings. It is an outstanding example of Pontiac's postwar styling and one of the marque's most recognizable hood ornaments.

Condition
Good original vintage condition with an impressive overall appearance.
Theamber Lucite Indian Chief insert is presentand retains excellent color and detail. As shown in the photographs, the Lucite hasconsiderable age-related crazing/fine cracking throughout.
The chrome-plated metal showspitting, oxidation, spotting, scratches and plating wearconsistent with age and use. There is particularly noticeable pitting along portions of the long chrome body and around the forward assembly.
