Original Vintage 1948 Toy Knights Of America Banquet Menu Waldorf Astoria Hotel New York City
The Toy Knights of America were the New York toy trade\'s fraternal order, active by the late 1930s — the club is indexed in the corporate records of the 1939 World\'s Fair — and their formal banquets filled midtown\'s great hotel ballrooms: this pair of menus comes from the 1946 dinner at the Commodore and the 1948 dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria. The Knights kept their seat at 200 Fifth Avenue, the International Toy Center, and after September 11 they organized a toy drive with the City and the airlines for children who had lost parents. The order faded in the years that followed; its federal exemption was revoked in 2010 after years of unfiled returns, and it never came back.
It measures 8\" x 5\" folded and 16\" x 10\" unfolded.
