Beautiful original-style Pontiac hood ornament featuring the iconicIndian Chief profile with long streamlined headdress and translucent red Lucite wing inserts. This dramatic postwar Pontiac design is one of the most recognizable hood ornaments of the era.
Identified as the1948 Pontiac Flying Indian Chief, associated withPontiac part/casting number 510565.
The ornament has an impressive long, low Art Deco/Streamliner profile. The red Lucite inserts provide excellent contrast against the chrome and display especially well when illuminated.
Condition
Very good vintage condition for its age. Both largered Lucite wing/headdress inserts are presentand retain strong color. Chrome remains bright and attractive overall.
There is age-relatedpitting, spotting, scratches, plating wear and other surface imperfections, particularly around the Chief\'s face and forward section. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.
