Original 1948 Esquire “Glamour Gallery” Pin-Up Calendar – Complete
Outstanding original vintage 1948 Esquire Glamour Gallery illustrated pin-up calendar, published by Esquire, Inc.
This is the post-Vargas Esquire calendar featuring full-color pin-up artwork by a group of noted illustrators, including Ben-Hur Baz, Fritz Willis, Joe De Mers, J. Frederick Smith and others.
Each month features a different full-color pin-up illustration accompanied by a humorous title/verse and a 1948 monthly calendar. Also includes the introductory “Essay on Jiggling.”
Complete calendar with all 12 months, January through December.
This example has been preserved in a clear protective sleeve. An older collector/dealer label on the sleeve is handwritten “1948 – MINT.”
Condition: Excellent vintage condition, especially considering its age. Pages are remarkably clean with strong, vibrant color and only light age-related toning/handling wear visible. No major tears, heavy staining or significant damage observed. Please examine all photographs carefully as they are an important part of the condition description.
Copyright page is marked Copyright 1947 by Esquire, Inc.; the calendar itself is the 1948 edition, as shown throughout the monthly calendar pages.
A particularly attractive surviving example of postwar Esquire pin-up art and a desirable piece of 1940s American illustration and glamour ephemera.
