Hello! A brief parable if I may:
I offer vintage electronics from time to time. Due to certain pitfalls that exist in this endeavor, I usually offer the item(s) as home decorum, period specific display, and/or motion picture, television and video production props. If an item is in a believed or known state of disrepair, then it\'s clearly stated as for parts only. This statement is nearly exclusive to vintage electronics for too many reasons to list. My aim is honesty, fairness and naturally staying profitable. How can that go wrong?
For Sale OR Trade:
I\'m offering for a very nice example of the Westinghouse Model H-104 table radio. It\'s a vacuum tube type radio receiver from 1946. Although the radio is uncommonly nice, there is of course some evidence of age and/or use. That is applicable to most vintage and antique items.
This radio a very unique and uncommon cabinet design that I call amphitheater style which centers on a louvered speaker area that tilts outward from it\'s large, beautiful glass dial scale.
It features 6 pushbutton station presets and large on/off/volume and station selection knobs. These 2 large knobs bear a brown background with a black flowing contrast that\'s very reminiscent of Catalyn plastic.
These (at the time) very forward design features make this radio something to behold, and it easily becomes the center of attention wherever it\'s proudly displayed.
It receives A.M. and Shortwave bands and has a phonograph amp selection with a single RCA input socket mounted (see photos) at the rear of the chassis. This separate amplifier circuit may be used (or converted for the use) with certain digital media storage and/or playback devices which allow listening to audio of their choice. I\'ve only began to read up on the topic, so my information is very limited on the topic.
Why Pickup Only?
With dimensions of 20 x 11 x 12 inches at 30 Lbs driving up the cost of purchase to my valued customers AND at risk of product loss, i\'m offering this piece to be picked up on site.
It\'s being offered at a comparatively lower than average price with reasonable offers considered to help out some on for the drive from points unknown to south central Virginia.
It\'s too nice a vintage piece to risk shipping destruction to name my biggest reason for on site pickup. I\'ve done it on about 3 prior occasions and everybody was happy and very satisfied.
Last, I feel that shipping costs would most likely be sale prohibitive as belts continue to tighten across our great nation. 🇺🇸
