1946 Cass Technical High School - Detroit, Michigan
Cass Technical High School in Detroit traces its origins to 1907, when it was established as Cass Technical High School to provide specialized technical and vocational education for the city’s rapidly growing population. Named for Michigan statesman Lewis Cass, the school became one of Detroit’s leading public high schools, offering programs in academic, technical, commercial, and vocational fields.
By 1946, Cass Tech was a prominent Detroit institution serving students during the post–World War II period.
