1940s Waterman\'s Taperite Stateleigh Fountain Pen & Pencil 14k Set - UNRESTORED For Sale

Up for sale/sale is a vintage late-1940s Waterman’s Taperite Stateleigh fountain pen and matching dark green mechanical pencil lot. This set comes housed in its original satin-lined vintage presentation box.

PLEASE NOTE - CAP DETAILS: This listing includes ONE (1) original 1/10 14K gold-filled "Stateleigh" cap. This cap features the collectible "Stars & Stripes" design (engraved single star above parallel lines). The cap fits both pieces interchangeably, but please note that only one cap is present in this lot (currently resting on the mechanical pencil). The fountain pen does not have a second cap.

Condition Details (Please Read):The Gold Cap: The single included cap is in beautiful physical condition with a bright shine and a tight, secure Art Deco "Waterman's" clip.The Mechanical Pencil: The barrel and nose cone show light cosmetic wear. The nose-twist mechanism functions as intended with the cap attached.The Fountain Pen Body & Nib: The plastic barrel and gripping section show light surface scuffs from age. Features the proper Taperite hooded 14K gold nib tip.Fountain Pen Filling Mechanism (Needs Repair): The external gold-plated lever box assembly appears to be missing the lever. However, the internal rubber ink sac is old, dried out, and broken. It will need to be scraped out and replaced with a new sac before the fountain pen can hold ink. The lever has not been forced to protect the barrel.The Presentation Box: Includes the original Waterman's case. It shows typical vintage shelf wear externally, but the interior lining and hinge are fully intact.This is a premium parts donor lot or a great restoration project for vintage fountain pen hobbyists looking to complete a Stateleigh set.
