Scarce vintage promotional photo postcard featuring the Stamps Ozark Quartet performing inside a radio studio. The five musicians are pictured gathered around a piano and broadcast microphone.
The printed caption identifies each member:
* Henry Slaughter
* Pat Garner
* Ford Keith
* Charles Bartlett
* Russell Richardson
The quartet was heard daily on radio station KWFT in Wichita Falls, Texas, with broadcasts advertised for 8:15 a.m., 12:00 noon and 1:30 p.m.
This appears to date from approximately the 1940s based on the performers, clothing, radio-studio setting and postcard format. The exact printing year is not shown. Henry Slaughter later became a prominent Southern gospel pianist, singer and songwriter, adding further music-history interest.
The postcard has an unused divided back with no writing, stamp or postmark.
Condition
Good vintage condition with age toning, minor corner and edge wear, light surface wear and a few small marks consistent with age and storage. There appears to be a faint vertical line or crease-like mark within the image area. Please review both photographs carefully for exact condition.
