This small-format Jewish siddur contains Hebrew prayers with English translation and instructions for daily services according to the German and Polish Jewish traditions. The book includes gilt page edges and a decorative cover with an ornamental metal clasp fitting on the fore edge.
Condition reflects age and use. The book remains solidly bound with all pages present. The pages show age toning typical of a book from this period but remain clean and readable.
The decorative clasp hardware is partially present; the mounted clasp piece remains attached to the front board, but the opposing latch portion that would secure the book closed is missing. As a result, the clasp no longer functions.
The spine covering shows notable wear and loss to the outer material along the back of the binding. Despite this cosmetic loss, the binding itself remains firm and the text block is secure.
Pre-World War II Jewish prayer books printed in Hungary are historically significant examples of early twentieth-century Judaica and remain of interest to collectors and readers alike.
