R69 “Horrors of War” trading card series. These original pre-WWII non-sport cards feature incredible full-color illustrated scenes on the fronts with historical descriptions on the backs. This is a substantial starter/partial set with 110 different cards and no duplicates, including several long consecutive runs.CARD NUMBERS INCLUDED:2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 14, 15, 27, 30, 32, 33, 37, 38, 39, 40, 42–90, 93, 99, 101, 102, 103, 107, 109–135, 139, 140, 141, 142, 171, 179, 181, 182, 184, 188, 253 & 273.Notable consecutive runs include #42 through #90 and #109 through #135, making this a great lot for someone looking to build or significantly expand a Horrors of War set.Condition varies throughout the lot. These cards are nearly 90 years old, and examples range in condition, but overall I would consider most to be better than poor condition. Many have strong eye appeal, and several appear to be in VG/EX to EX condition or better. Expect normal vintage wear such as corner/edge wear, toning, surface wear, or other age-related imperfections on some cards. All cards are raw and ungraded, and no specific third-party grade is guaranteed. Please carefully review all provided photographs, as they show the exact 110 cards you will receive and are considered part of the condition description. Also included are the much later-numbered #253 and #273, which are worth noting for collectors working on the extended 288-card set.A fantastic opportunity to acquire 110 different original 1938 Horrors of War cards at once rather than assembling a large partial set individually.Cards will be carefully and securely packaged for shipping.
