This listing is for an original 1936 “Map and Resort Guide: Lake of the Ozarks and Vicinity”—a scarce early tourist map issued shortly after the creation of Bagnell Dam and the formation of the Lake of the Ozarks. This piece predates most modern tourism materials and documents the earliest era of development around the lake.
The large fold-out map features detailed roads, waterways, resorts, cabins, and points of interest as they existed in the mid-1930s. Also included is the tri-fold brochure section titled “Miracle of the Ozarks,” along with a directory of 1936 Lake of the Ozarks Association business members.
A fantastic piece of Missouri history and an excellent display item for collectors, lake homeowners, resort owners, or anyone with ties to the region.
