1935 Troy NY Public School Fun Fest Circus Broadside Flyer & Program May Wirth For Sale

This rare 1935 circus ephemera lot includes the promotional broadside flyer and the companion official event program for The Fun Fest Great Public School Circus, held at Troy High School in Troy, New York. The broadside prominently features May Wirth and her Ponies in an \"Artistic Interpretation of a Pony Ballet\" Inducted into the Circus Hall Of Fame, Wirth is widely considered the greatest female bareback equestrian rider of all time. This rare late-career item captures her touring smaller regional circuits and fairs just two years prior to her retirement in 1937. Other acts include Polly Aird (\"Queen Of The Air\"), the Rex Flynn Troupe, and a unique 1930\'s mystery animal act billed as the \"Hykopokorinkus\" The program has vintage business ads for Troy landmarks: Trojan Sporting Goods (411 Broadway), Kelly\'s clothing (621 River St), and the Collar City Creamery. Both pieces are in remarkable, clean vintage condition. The paper has even age-toning, typical for 90 year old ephemera, Edges are crisp with virtually no fraying, creases or tears, although the broadside has one small piece missing on the bottom left side. It measures 12\" x 6\" and would look great framed!
