1931 Strine-Sipe Reunion Ribbon Name Tag Mrs Harvey Strine Cold springs PA York
This specific name tag belonged to Mrs Harvey Strine (Emma Jane Brooks Strine) The Strines were a prominent local family and Harvery and Emma were active in York County social and community life during the early 20th century. This is a primary source artifact for anyone researching the Strine, Sipe, or Brooks lineages.
This listing includes both the printed commemorative ribbon and the matching name tag from the 3rd annual Strine-Sipe Reunion held at Cold Springs Park on August 16, 1931. Local historians will also be interested in the park connection: Cold Spring Park was a premier "trolley park" on the Conewago Creek. This ribbon dates to the final trolley service (which ended in 1932) and the peak of the park's popularity as a reunion destination under the ownership of "Barney" Barnhart.
The ribbon is either silk or acetate and measures 5 1/2" by 2" , the tag is fastened on with an old safety pin and measures 3" by 2 1/4". It is rare to find the tag and ribbon still together! I will ship in a rigid plastic sleeve (last picture) to protect it.
