Original vintage Louisiana State University (LSU) Extension Course brochure for “Psychology of Personal Efficiency (Psychology 141-41)”, taught by Frank O. Kreager, Ed.D., Harvard, Extension Professor of Education, Psychology and Sociology at Louisiana State University.
This fascinating piece of early psychology and university ephemera is believed to date from the 1930s. Historical records document Dr. Kreager presenting lectures under the title Psychology of Personal Efficiency during this period.
The brochure contains detailed information about the course, including its curriculum, university credit requirements, tuition fees, introductory lectures, and a section titled “Psychology of Personal Efficiency for Thinkers.” Topics include memory, learning, habits, fear, worry, temperament, mental efficiency, adaptation, expression, personality development and other aspects of early applied psychology.
The course consisted of 27 hours of lectures and 27 hours of group discussion and could be taken for university credit or simply as a lecture course.
A very interesting and uncommon piece of LSU, psychology, education and academic history, especially suitable for collectors of vintage university memorabilia and early psychology ephemera.
Condition: Vintage pre-owned condition with age toning, fold/crease wear and minor edge and corner wear. No location or starting date appears to have been filled into the blank spaces on the front. Please review all photos carefully for exact condition.
