Original period black-and-white photograph of the Canada Steamship Lines motor vessel GRAINMOTOR, shown dockside at an industrial waterfront facility.
GRAINMOTOR was built in 1929. Based on the vessel, industrial setting and original presentation, this photograph is conservatively dated c. 1935-1945.
The photograph remains in its original vintage wooden frame and is marked “Picture by Lambert” on the backing. Photographer has not been further identified.
An original 1946 Columbia Pictures advertising poster fragment for The Return of Monte Cristo was found cut and reused as part of the frame backing, documenting that the present framing dates to 1946 or later.
Overall framed size is approximately 14 x 11 inches.
Vintage condition with age-related wear to the wooden frame, backing and presentation. Photograph and original framing have been preserved as found. Please review photographs for condition and details.
