1930\'s Myott Chelsea Bird 9 inch green border plate in pristine condition other than some faint occasional mars in the gold rim in a few places. Mostly the rim is in excellent condition. I think these marks on the rim were from stacking rather than use because there are no signs of wear or use marks at all on the rest of the plate. It\'s remarkable to find this early Chelsea Bird plate with beads, in the rarer teal green, and in this condition.
This plate has hand enameled raised beads or \"jewels\" to accent the fruit and leaves, which was only done in the Art Deco era of the company, the 1930\'s through 1942. Also the backstamp shield mark with the diagonal band was used in the Art Deco period. The gold 8580 decorator # corresponds to the 1930\'s run, as does \"England\" and not the later \"Made in England\".
