1924 Stoughton MA Train Wreck Locomotive In Station Depot Glass Negative OOAK
Original antique gelatin silver glass plate camera negative taken in August 1924 by Boston Herald-Traveler staff photographer Leslie Jones, capturing the aftermath of a steam locomotive plowing directly into the passenger depot in Stoughton, Massachusetts.
Preserved directly within the historic press morgue of the Boston Herald-Traveler, this interior flash-lit field exposure documents an extraordinary railroad disaster where a runaway locomotive breached the passenger station, collapsing the interior roof timbers and walls around the overturned engine.
