The trio who took part in the interesting wedding at the Philadelphia City Hall are, left to right: Miss Elsie Bartlett Porter of New York, Judge William M. Lewis, who performed the ceremony, and Joseph Schildkraut.
The groom, who is known as the "handsomest man of Europe," starred in one of Broadway's greatest successes, "Liliom." Born in Bucharest, Romania, he received his education in Berlin. Later, he came to this country, but returned to Europe to study for the stage. His success has been marked for one so young: he is only 26 years old.
Miss Porter, too, received her education for the operatic stage on the Continent, in Paris, but gave it up for the dramatic stage and has been appearing in support of Arnold Daly and in other productions.
