Written on Lincoln\'s personal \"The Crosstrees, Chatham, Mass.\" stationery and dated June 27, 1921, the letter is addressed to \"My dear Jerry\" and signed simply \"Joe.\" Throughout the lengthy manuscript Lincoln writes in an engaging, informal style about travel plans, automobile mileage, family and friends, correspondence, and anticipated visits to Canada and Ontario. The letter captures the conversational warmth that made Lincoln\'s fiction so popular with readers.
\"The Crosstrees\" was Lincoln\'s famous Chatham residence overlooking the Atlantic, and stationery bearing this imprint is especially desirable among collectors of Cape Cod history and American literary manuscripts.
A fine original literary manuscript from one of New England\'s most recognized storytellers, offering excellent display value and strong appeal to collectors of Cape Codiana, American literature, autograph letters, and early twentieth-century manuscript correspondence.
