Beautiful vintage Tiffin Glass lamp shade dating to approximately the 1920s, made in glowing coral-pink satin glass and decorated with a dramatic sailing ship, rolling waves, and flying birds. The shade is finished with an attached black top and tall pointed finial, giving it a striking Art Deco-era silhouette.
When illuminated, the satin glass takes on a warm orange-red glow while the dark ship decoration appears in silhouette. This would make an exceptional restoration piece for a period accent, boudoir, or novelty lamp.
The lower fitter opening measures approximately 3 1/2 inches across. This listing is for the complete shade assembly shown. The lamp base, socket, bulb, cord, and other electrical components are not included.
The sailing-ship decoration remains strong and displays beautifully. The attached black top and finial are free of chips. A whitish area is present on the upper back of the satin glass, possibly caused by heat from an overly hot bulb. There is also old mounting residue and wear around the lower fitter rim from its former installation. Please review all photographs closely, as they are an important part of the condition description.
A scarce and visually impressive piece of vintage Tiffin Glass, ideal for completing a period lamp restoration or adding to a maritime or American art-glass collection.
It will be carefully packaged and insured to arrive safely.
